The main building was built in
1907 using hand hewed chestnut extensively for the interior. One interesting feature is a free standing fireplace, the largest in Blowing Rock. |
| Famed artist and writer, Elliott
Daingerfield, had his studio on the second floor. Later, the
building was used as a local craft co-op, library, community club, and a summer home. |

In 1990, the owners moved the Café from Foscoe, NC and had this building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. With careful restoration, they have preserved unique characteristics of this beautiful landmark, making it a distinctive setting for their innovative cuisine. |
